There is a specific kind of silence that comes with the decision to leave. On the 16th of June, 2011, I sought that silence. I thought I had successfully ended the pain on every level: spiritually, physically, and psychologically.

When I woke up ten hours later, I didn’t have a memory, I had a fracture. A break in my soul so deep it took years to name.

I am writing this for the misfits and the fighters. For the high achievers silently carrying an invisible weight, feeling they have no right to their own struggle.
